workstation recommendations for houdini

i think it kind of depends on what you want to do with it. I am a generalist and the system I would build:

- supermicro workstation motherboard
- 2x xeon 2660 v3
- 128gb ram
- nvidia titan or gtx 980. i would go with the 980 and save up some money here.
- 2x 500gb ssd or 1x 1tb.. depending if you want to install linux beside windows i would seperate them on 2 drives.
- few sata drives for storage

to be honest. if possible i would wait for the new processors.

I will be doing mostly simulation … RBD and Flip stuff.

The new processors … Do we have any idea when they will be released ??

August 2015 is the last date i heard. Not sure how much of an upgrade they will be. there is not much information atm.
