Crashes about every 2 mins.
add a sphere.
add a cam.
pan around in scene.
CRASH.
Every time.
That's it.
Can't get anything done at all. Seriously?
checked driver issues. current drivers installed. Rolled back two versions. Still crashing. Read threads online about issues but most seem to be on nividia. Can't find any using AMD.

You could run Prime95 [mersenne.org] on your machine to make sure it is stable. If your hardware is overclocked you may experience random crashing.
