Hi,

recently i bought Houdini Indie..and i love it! ^-^
But i have a question about the “blur” Node in Compositing in Houdini…if i set the size to..lets say 200 (Gaussian), my image looked blured, but i get banding effects..
Dither can be the right way to encounter this effect..but i cant find an option for this.

Is there an other way to “blur” the banding effect? Did i miss some settings in Compositing?

Anyway…THANKS! for the help i am hopefully getting

Greetings,

shinda

Change your Pixel Format from 8b to 16b FP in the Edit > Composite Settings and that'll get rid of the banding. If the 8b format is due to the source file's format, use a Convert COP to do the same thing (or override the depth in the File COP to 16b FP).
