how can I disable SSE in Houdini 8 ?
I used the search on this forum and I got a few threads about the environ-
ment variables but the threads are not clear for me.


could somebody help me please

You should be able to disable sse by setting the environment variable HOUDINI_DISABLE_MMX to 1. On linux:

setenv HOUDINI_DISABLE_MMX 1

On Windows, you'll need to add this to the system properties (right-click on my computer and choose properties, I think). You can find more about Houdini environment variables by typing “hconfig -h” on the command line.
