Hi,
I am new to Houdini and trying to understand how object- and geometry-level work, because some stuff seems to only be doable on objectlevel and other on geometry level. Following example:
I scattered several objects on a surface by using first the scatter and the copy node, after that i would like to reduce their polycount by distance but this seems not to be possible, as the result of the copynode is one big object. How can I separate the scattered objects again to have individual identities that each can have a certain distance to null, in order to polyreduce by distance.
Thank you!

Hi Circusmonkey,
thank you for your help.
There are so many ways in houdini to solve a problem! After I got some basic understandig, I gave the scattered points a new attribute which is then used for copy stamping it to a polyreduction node.
I will check out your scene to learn how you would have done it! Thanks!
