Houdini 17: Visualize Voronoi Fracture

Hi all,

As soon as I assemble a Voronoi fractured object into packed geometry the wire shading disappears. Both in Flat Wire Shaded as well as in Smooth Wire Shaded I just see a shaded object without a wireframe? When I set the visualisation to either Wireframe of Wireframe Ghost eveything looks fine though.

On top of that, I can't get the Voronoi fractures to be colorized separate anymore (the ‘Visualize Pieces’ option has been removed).
I can't get it to work in the new visualize geometry node.

What am I missing here?

Hey,

yeah i found this confusing at first too (the visualizer not being there)

I think the new workflow is to click on the new visualizer button next to the name prefix, however it just throws errors when i try to use this (i think its broken as it doesnt work anywhere)

I got the pieces to show up by hitting x to add a new visualize node, then setting it to:

- color
- random from attr
- primitive
- selecting ‘name’ from the attr dropdown

And by making sure viewport visualization is on

hi!

- as of H17, if you hit “D” in the viewport, go to Geometry tab, on the right you will see an option “Wire over packed geo”

Just in case someone can't find it in H18, before the scatter point input,

add a node,

- Group Type==> Point(of course)
- Color Type==> Random

and in the voronoiFracture node

- check the
- To Piece Primitives==> ___Cd___
