I'm trying to set Sublime as as external editor (should just be in the prefs), but it doesn't open anything. I've been searching around, but no ones seems to have found the answer. I've tried varying the path name to the Sublime app many times, but it none of them open it. I've been updating the houdini.env file and closing/re-opening Houdini with variations on this path:

EDITOR = “/Applications/Sublime\ Text.app/Contents/MacOS/Sublime\ Text”

ALSO:

EDITOR = “/Applications/Sublime\ Text.app/Contents/SharedSupport/bin/subl”

Why the forward slash and back slashes?

That's an escape character, to escape the white space I assume. I'm not sure if you have to use one though. I always put paths in quotes when setting paths in the houdini.env.

I’ve tried the path with and without escape characters, but neither works. It shouldn’t matter, as its in quotes, but I saw other posts where they used escape chars.

Has anyone been able to get this to work with Sublime on Mac?

It works for me, but I set it via the menu Edit->Preferences->Set External Text Editor and I chose this path: /Applications/Sublime Text.app/Contents/SharedSupport/bin/subl
