I wonder if it is possible to customize the drop down menus a little further with highlighting, colors, separators, bold or italic style, subfolders…

I couldn't find anything about that.

I think Menu entries and separators can be added but im not sure about fonts.Colors can be changed, although I am not sure if the colors are global or menu specific.

Eitehr way, you have to search through the various python and xml files for the correct menu parts and alter them…
