I'm trying to do a soft volumetric light with a tiny bit of fog to create a halo effect underneath the mushroom in a scene I'm lighting. I tried using the defeat volumetric light in houdini and it didn't work in my scene. I created a piece of geometry that I used a convert to fog node to create the fog currently in my photo of my scene. Is there a better to go about creating a light illuminating from the mushroom with a volumetric light. The first image is my attempt at volume light, and it's a flop. The 2 &3 attached images are more the effect I'm trying to achieve. I found an old tutorial that showed how to do it however the atmosphere node in houdini 17.5 has been deprecated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM5bFeNKrX4. [www.youtube.com] How can I achieve the volumetric light effect?

To quote https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/render/lights.html:
In ye olden tymes one might have tried to fake a street light through fog or God rays using shader tricks. However, with PBR it’s much easier to actually set up a very powerful light and blast it through a very low resolution, very low density, brightly colored volume.Throw down a box large enough to fill your field of view, give it a Uniform Volume material, shine a light inside the box and then tweak to get the effect you want. Using a volume and a basic smoke shader should work too.
