I'm building a new rig and I'm considering AMD's 7900XTX
I'll mainly use it to play with Houdini Vellum and Rendering (Haven't picked the renderer I'll use, but most likely it will be Redshift as it has recently added support for AMD).

For those using AMD, what has been your experience with previous AMD generations?
Are they stable and fast, would you use them over the green team?

I asked around in Reddit and the consensus was that, for Rendering and VFX, Nvidia is the way to go.

Thanks

I wonder if the new cards with their chiplet design still count as one gpu unit in opencl context

the new chiplet cards only have one gpu on them. the surrounding chips are cache.

I am on a 2013 Mac Pro and using an EGPU with a RX 6900XT and performance is pretty good and much better than the WX8200 I previously was using.

If anyone has a benchmark test I can use to see what the actuals results are please share a link.

A Happy New Years to all.
