Karma XPU Motion Blur Artifacts

I keep running into this issue on multiple projects, and have no idea what is causing it. Whenever I render to Mplay or to disk I end up getting artifacts randomly on fast moving geometry. They appear like blocks of missing motion blur like in the image below.

The above image is the scene view from the stage, and below is rendered to Mplay. Sometimes the artifacts will appear in the scene view as well, sometimes not.

Has anybody ran into this? Any idea how to fix it?

Is this an Optix-only issue?
For example, if you render using only the EmbreeCPU device, do the artifacts go away?
envvar KARMA_XPU_DISABLE_OPTIX_DEVICE=1
What is your hardware setup? Do you have 1 GPU? or 2? Driver version?

FYI, here is another use also with motionblur issues, but they stopped communicating before we were able to solve the issue.

Yes, if I set that variable, the issue goes away. This is with version 20.0.688.

System specs:

Core I9 14900K
128 gb ram
single RTX 4090 studio driver 552.22

I have had a similar issue with packed primitives, that unpacking fixed. With this file, the geo is not packed. Subdividing the geo will change where the artifacts occur, but they will still show on a few frames.

im running into this too! driving me mad trouble shooting it. need the XPU speed but its gives me massive blocks especially noticable in the motion blur!

im bringing in packed geo from sops. not bringing in V attr. using motion blur lop. if i tweak my lop nodes in some way the blocks actually disappear, so for most of ipr working it makes you think its working nicely. then you and render to disk or just restart the xpu ipr and the blocks errors are there!

20.0.724 and 20.0.590
x2 3090
threadripper cpu
nvidia drivers 552.22
windows 11

what happens if you try with 555.85 ?
NVidia fixed some motionblur bugs in that driver release, hopefully that might include what you're seeing
