Karma physical sky - banding

I love the new Karma Physical Sky - but wonder if it was intended to be visible in renders (render light geometry)?

The flexibility is great but in my renders it often has ugly banding - like in a video with a low bitrate.
This doesn't usually happen with HDRIs.

Is that due to the way it was set up or did I overlook a relevant parameter?

Cheers

That's caused by the viewing lut converting to screen colors without dithering. The render doesn't contain this banding. Nuke uses dithering when applying a display transform. Dithering can be applied when converting to 8bit images using hoiiotool by using the --dither flag. I don't think there's an option to use dithering in the Houdini image viewer though.
