I'm 100% sure we used to have the HARS porcess created as a subprocess of Unreal. This made it so I was sure the session would be killed when the editor was closed. It's no longer the case making it really harder to ensure the session/memory is clean. Is it a settings I missed, or a known bug? It used to work with Unreal 5.3 Houdini 20.0.590, it stopped working on this same version and it still not working with Unreal 5.4 and Houdini 20.0.724.

Hi manugulus -

I installed H20.0.590 and was able to recreate the issue with HARS not being created. I then switched to a later H20 build of H20.0.756 and the issue was not there anymore.

It may have been a bug with that specific version. Have you tried a more recent Houdini version with 5.4 or 5.3?
