Due to some factors, I only have two choices, AMD R5 4500 and AMD R7-2700, mainly need to be able to run Houdini software smoothly and do some small calculations.

Please give me some advice. If it were you, which CPU would you choose? Thank you

You're really only talking about a 5%-10% speed difference. A tough call, but I'd probably go for the more modern chip. Later, you might be able to upgrade it to recover lost core difference between the two models.

The difference is really small, and it is difficult for me to choose.
