Colors arent the same in solaris and on final render

I have an issue in houdini 20.5 that wasnt there in houdini 20
the final render doesn't match the picture I see in stage viewport.
Any reason? Am i missing something?

probably something weird going on when using a 1.0 config.

Does it happen with the build in config or another 2.1 config?

Had the same issue myself. Issue was indeed OCIO config related.
Funny enough, Karma CPU gave the correct result in the viewport. Only OpenGL/Vulkan and XPU were off (with XPU being correct when rendering to mplay/disk).

I have a pc env variable for a 1.2 config that works fine on houdini 20 but here it doesnt . if i understand it right i have to use a 2.1cofig now?

I tested a 1.0 config and the built in one and couldn't recreate this problem. A 2.1 config isn't required, but it enables more predictable conversion with file input and output with explicit file rules. a 1.0 config may require changing environment variables in houdini to re-enable legacy behavior. It shouldn't be a factor when rendering directly to mplay though.

I've tried everything the disparity in color remains. hope in next build gets back to normal for me

Same CPU gives the correct result

Hi!

Make sure to set the source and output color space into "ACES CG" on the RenderProduct prim, you can create an edit between the Karma render settings and the USD Render ROP.



Probably this is the cause of the color difference.
