Hi,
USD is still a mystery to me and I guess to many others too.
How can I load an USD file with all shaders and textures into the stage and edit it‘s shader network properly?
EditMaterialNetwork loads some nodes but changes won‘t be visible.
While Solaris is based on USD, it‘s still a unclear task to me how to load things correctly and easy.
Thanks
Tom
Import USD and edit it‘s Material

Off the top of my head I'd say you want a sublayer or reference LOP to bring in the USD file (if you have no idea which one is the "right" one, use sublayer). Then an Edit Material Network LOP to modify the material. Or Material Library LOP if you want to start a brand new material, but then you'd need a material linker to assign to the new material to the geometry.
If Edit Material Network isn't working, an example file would be really helpful. Thanks!

Hi mtucker
Thanks for the hint, couldn't remember the "sublayer" node after a longer break with Houdini.
I attached a sample file how I imported and saved things.
