Pink background image after a while

When I add a video or image sequence as a background image to my camera, I keep getting a pink image after a short while. I've tried with image sequences (PNG and EXR) and video formats (MP4 and ProRes), but nothing works. I'm running version 20.5.278. Does anyone know what i could be doing wrong?

I think pink means missing texture. Is your sequence long enough to cover your render frame range?
Using Houdini Indie 20.0
Windows 11 64GB Ryzen 16 core.
nVidia 3050RTX 8BG RAM.
