Karma Background Plate object doesn't give bounce light

Hey there,

I'm using the Background Plate Node in Solaris with Karma to get AOVs for Shadows and Bounce Light from my render objects.
However I noticed that all the influence from my shadow catcher on the render object disappears as soon as I turn it into a Background Plate.

Imagine a blue rubbertoy in a pink alley. The rubbertoy casts shadows and blue bounce light onto the alley. The alley gives pink bounce light to the rubbertoy. But when I turn the alley into a background plate, the pink bounce light on the rubbertoy disappears.

How can I fix this? I can split it into two streams and work with regular indirect AOVs but ideally I want to render everything at once.

Thanks!

Only way I know how to improve it, is to jump into the shader inside the Background Plate Node and tweak.

You need to be an a fairly new build of 20.5 for this to work because there was a bug that put down the wrong shaders (not MTLX). On 20.5.410 this should work (it did not in 20.5.370).
