Help! Karma render ignores all geometry visible in viewport

I'm sure this is a very basic issue but I just can't figure it out.
I've setup geometry, camera and lights in solaris and want to run a test render (Image 1). Setting Karma render settings as the display nodes shows things as expected in the viewport.
But when I hit Render to Disk or Render to MPlay in the USD Render ROP node only the sky box is visible. All other geometry etc is gone (Image 2).
What's happening here? Is there an obvious setting I'm overlooking? Or a node that behaves unexpectedly (Image 3)?

Seems like Houdini is having issues with the Layer Save Path you have defined (on the SOP Import LOPs). I turned them off and it renders as expected.

How did you discover this so that I could better debug similar issues in the future? Was there a warning message I was overlooking?

No error message, no - although now you mention it, I probably should have looked at the Log Viewer as a first step - whoops!
I can't precisely remember the steps, but I believe it was these (in no particular order):
- Checked the Karma Render Settings and USD Render ROP, then tried to recreate them.
- Checked for any clipping plane issues on the camera - tried a new camera.
- Checked with default materials and lighting
- Checked both MPlay and Rendering to Disk - the output image was also blank.
- Checked the render with just a basic cube - that worked, so that clued me in that it's a geometry issue.
- Replaced your pipe geo with a basic cube in SOPs and that was also blank, so I figured it's definitely something on the SOP Import and it was.
