Mac viewport navigation broken in Solaris (Strange Bug) Aug. 10, 2024, 3:35 p.m.

So I recently got myself a Macbook Air M3 for casual stuff, and pressing "space" for viewport navigation is very buggy.
Basically, as soon as you have been into a SopCreate, Instancer or any node for Geometry, the stage viewport navigation becomes broken using "space" or "alt". This also applies to SopModify that get broken inside.

What is even stranger is that when broken and creating a new viewport, the bug goes away on existing SopCreates in/out that previously broke it, but breaks again if a new one is created and jumped in/out of. This seems also be saved with the file.

I installed the latest production daily but also a 19.5 version. They both have the same issues.
Before I make a bug report I wanted to check if this is me only.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open Houdini (FX) in Stage. Viewport nav works fine.
2. Create a SopCreate. Viewport nav works fine.
3. Dive into the sopcreate then back to stage. "space" works 10% of the time.

Failed attempts at solution:
1. Labs "update viewport". Crash.
2. Disabled all other apps running. Same result.
3. Reboot.
4. Older Houdini versions.

Working solutions:
1. Resize window/Switch space and back - All Works. Stage viewport becomes normal until another dive in/out.
2. Touch the touchpad gently with two fingers - Temporarily works for 30 seconds
3. Create a new viewer - Works on existing stuff, but breaks if a new one is created and jumped in/out of.

TOPS get selected LOP nodes? March 23, 2022, 8:47 a.m.

Any chance one could parse a bunch of selected LOP nodes to TOPS, either by python or by some node, or does it need to be specifically connected/fetched? Just getting my feet wet with TOPS so excuse the noob-questions.
