n-body gravity simulation using particles Dec. 12, 2023, 10:23 a.m.

Did you ever figure this out? I am working on the same thing. Right now, because I saw nasa's simulation was using SPH, I am using flip sims with initial sphere sources and a simple pop wind to move theia towards the proto earth. Then I am using a compbination of pop attracts to simulate gravity, and popaxisforce to give the sim an orbit. The problem I am having is to have the moon form out of the debris. In ahve tried using an animated object as SOP input for another pop attract to have the particles slowly form into the moon, but strangely as soon as I add that the whole sim disapears.

Rendering Alembic Holdouts in mantra April 27, 2020, 10:53 a.m.

I have a pretty heavy building sim, with a 9/11 style dust layer forming as it collapses. Without holdouts the render acts as expected for a heavy dust sim @ 1 hour per frame. After adding my packed alembic destruction layers as forced matte, however, the render time increases to up to 6 hours per frame depending on the frame. I must be doing something very wrong, but google hasn't been nice to me on this topic . I cannot post the file because it is work, so I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I am having the same issue on 15.5.480 Indie, but it pops up for a millisecond, then disappears.
