Karma MatX Builder 1.4 / Now USD & LOP Network support Nov. 12, 2024, 1:16 p.m.

This is the more advanced KMB I'm currently working on.


If there's enough interest for it I'll have it released once it is finished. This version became a more flexible tool to automate the process of texturing with MaterialX in Houdini Solaris. With more control over the outcome. The KMB creates standard nodes to produce the textures so you can remove the KMB hda at any time for maximum compatibility.

What's new in this version:
* You can now use the KMB in any LOP Network, it is not limited to the Stage LOP Network.
* You can import objects like *.obj, *.fbx, *.bgeo, etc.. but now it also supports USD
* More advanced optional settings like:
- Scale and rotation control
- Blast Unused Materials with rules for Objects & USD
- Split Name & NameGroup
- Clean Two Points Poly
- Geometry Triangulate
- Remove unused points

* Advanced VEXpressions like:
- AutoSet VEXpression for objects & USD
- MegaScan VEXpression
- Custom VEXpression

* Now you can drag any Material Library in the Base Color Randomizer
* The Object Analyser for Primitive Attrib debugging.

When working with udim's you need to set the Image Suffix in the HDA as followed _<UDIM>_BaseColor.png

With the Karma MatX Builder ( download below ) you can automatically build Karma Materials ( Material X textures ) in Houdini. Add all the nodes like Color, Spec, Displacement, etc.. according to the flags set in the HDA for each texture. So no need to set those up manually. Save time by setting the file path to the texture map once in the Global Texture Dir and this directory will be added to each image node for all the textures.
Automatically link texture images to your surfaces.
After the build you can easily remove the HDA for compatibility reasons.
