Which Render Farm is best for Houdini Redshift March 1, 2024, 6:14 a.m.
Hi
Can anyone advise on which render farm is best for Houdini and Redshift?
I have been using Gridmarkets but am finding their machine extremly slow and very costly.
An example: My machine, win 10 on a 4090 was taking 8 seconds a frame at the start of a sequence.
The camera pans down onto a building. So no geometry in the start of the sequence. Gridmarkets machines were up to 7 mins and still running, burning credits. I killed the job and rendered over night on my machine.
Be good to know if anyone is having better luck elseware?

FBX texture import. Feb. 5, 2024, 10:30 a.m.
We are now in Houdini version 20.
Why is it impossible to get an FBX to import correctly with materials and textures?
It is simple to do in Blender you just import and it done.
Surely buy now there is a method that can do this today?
You wasted hours having to re-texture models with 100's of materials.
Dose anyone have any workarounds for this?
Thanks

Karma or Redshift Sept. 9, 2023, 10:42 a.m.
Interesting! I have been experiencing a lot of bugs and crashes with Redshift. Thats what promted me to ask the question. It always seems to happen when a bigger brand buys up specialist tech and fail to continue the quality of development.
Karma H20 could be the moment we can shift back to Houdini native rendering.
