Quadro K2000 or GTX 770/780 Dec. 17, 2013, 8:55 p.m.
Just installed a 770 4GB on Win 7 and scored a 92.46 fps using Cinebench.
Moritz let's have a bench-off I want to find one of the files from other threads where people were posting fps from a Houdini file, but I'm not sure how to run it once I get it. I'm moving from a 6870 in a Hackintosh, so I'm sure my experience will be much better now that Houdini doesn't have to compete with it's arch enemies AMD and OS. Although I'm tempted to check it out with H13 and Mavericks.

Updating to latest xquartz solved mine.
Yup, I had to do a clean install. http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=172&page=viewtopic&p=123422#123422 [sidefx.com]
now to dive into the deep world that is Houdini!
Install Issues and icons missing - Mountain Lion *fixed* Sept. 7, 2012, 2:22 p.m.
So even though I had previously installed xQuartz, then installed over it again (with the same version but different site), I went ahead and deleted xQuartz and reinstalled it. I now have all my buttons woohoo! I am still running the AMD 6870, but won't know if I'm having performance issues since I have nothing to compare it to. Damn, all the talk about openGL 2.1 and catalyst rollbacks had me looking at some nVidia 670s, now I don't have to go down that road. On to my homework now!
(I'll get around to fixing the “help” bug later)
ps. Isn't this a lovely conversation with myself?
