DOP substeps vs POP substeps Nov. 23, 2017, 5:04 a.m.
Hi all!
I came across this issue today which I found curious, I just wanted to know why I would be getting a different result when setting the DOP substeps to 10 as opposed to setting the POP solver substeps to 10? I was expecting the same result..
In the attached file the only difference is where the substeps are being set, the green one is on DOPs and the red one on POPs.

Cloud Tool volumetric god rays May 16, 2016, 10:49 p.m.
Hello all!
I recently made my foray into Houdini's cloud tools, and I have to say I was having a bit of fun.
I created this - https://vimeo.com/166779399 [vimeo.com]
However, I wasn't having much luck with creating those god rays in Houdini using the atmosphere object so I just made them in Nuke…
I was wondering if anyone has any tips on using the atmosphere object with the cloud tools? Does it work? My tests just seemed to create a really bad volume representation of the clouds that couldn't be used as a holdout…
Also, it seems some of my clouds were going black in color which I shall have to investigate further, as I was not doing that on purpose.
Cheers
Alex
