We were suffering from this issue for some time, across windows versions and houdini builds..
in our case we nailed it down to licensing.. specifically the lookup. when we put the name of the actual license server into the appropriate field in the license adminstrator and resolved that name via an entry in the hosts-file (that overrides DNS), it was perfect.
Surprisingly, entering the IP directly into the server field of the license admin didnt help, it had the same delay.

Exporting to Houdini is pretty straight forward in Syntheyes.. it spits out a .cmd script that you run inside Houdini to create a camera with animation and a bunch of nulls representing the tracker dots. That's it.
