I wasn't here for a long time so I missed this. Awsome modeling. Lover the model and the fact you are doing it in Houdini. Any updates on this? 😊

Hi man, thanks for the comment! I'm eager to come back to this project but I haven't quite found the time to pick it up.

No file access on NAS from within Houdini March 4, 2024, 3:33 p.m.

Digging this thread again to say thanks, just for the record I had this problem with an Unraid server sharing files to a Windows machine using NFS and this solved it.

Modeling in Houdini, like eating soup with a toothpick…

The Modeler addon by Alex Vanzhula is a huge improvement, but still its so much faster to model in another app and import then to try doing everything in Houdini.

It’s just too slow and frustrating.

I disagree, the speed increase you get using Modeler by comparison with vanilla Houdini is incredible, it's only a matter of getting familiar with the tools, in my opinion using Modeler saves you the hassle of splitting the modeling part of production to another program.

I've been doing streams were I focus on mastering Modeler and designing a Robot, for every feature that Modeler might be currently lacking there is probably another time saver there for us.
