dynamics chops Nov. 14, 2007, 2:52 p.m.
Hi,
I am trying to extract the transformation/rotation from a RBD object, and then bake and tweak the animation.
I was able to extract the information using the Dynamics CHOP, and then export it to an object.
I thought I was suppose to be RMB click on the CHOP node (I tried both Dynamics and Export node), select to tweak the animation keys.
But I keep getting the error message saying
Cannot edit: CHOP does not have enough data.
I even get the same error with the ExtractTranfroms sample from the Houdini help.
Did I miss something?
Attached is the test .hip file, I would appreciate if anyone have time to take a look and let me know what did I do wrong.
In the file, /obj/groundplane_object1 and /obj/tube_object1 are all RBD objects. /obj/box_object1 is the object that gets the channel exported from the CHOP.
Ultimately, I want to bake the RBD animation into keyframes into the box_object and then tweak the keys to my likings.
I am using Houdini 9.0.765
Thanks,
michael

Make sure the flag is set on the transform node you want to work on. Highlighting the {xform} node only shows the parameters in the parameter pane. You need to set the node to for the handle to appear.
