question: does it mantain primitive groups for back and side faces?
suggestion: there could be an option to loop over each geo island and the tool would auto thicken all non-watertight meshes.
I've made an hda that does exaclty that (plus mantaining prim groups for the side faces), and I use it 9 out of 10 times before shattering any geo coming from the model department. it works great, except for the fact that polyextrude can sometimes output problematic meshes just like you pointed out in your video, so I have to stick with tiny distances.
Greetings, is this a special plugin? Does it require a separate purchase? We do much 3D printing, and this would be a great addition to our workflow. Please let me know.

Hey! It should keep the primitive groups. I'm just doing an extrude with averaged normals.
The idea to loop through all the meshes and only do for the open one is a great idea! I'll implement it

Very nice ...
When I apply it to Box , the generated shell part by thicken is not parallel to main surface! why?
