Continuing from the last lecture, let’s take our wood plank and turn it into a digital asset so we can re-use it throughout the course. To do this we are going to turn the nodes, which build the wood plank, into an HDA. We will then take that HDA and create the wood wall from it using copying.

    Hi!
Thank you for this tutorial, it is very interesting.
I have one question: say I want to be able to change my cube's number of divisions from the Asset parameters, how should I select the UV seams? If I just click on them from the 3D view like we did last lesson, my UVmap will only work with the current number of divisions. I just spent a few hours trying to create the right group but didn't find a way to select the right UV seams procedurally.
    regards

Great video tutorials Kenny. So far so good with my wood wall. Just wish it was this easy to build a wood plank wall in reality;-) Looking forward to completing my Guard Tower. Cheers.

For some reason, anytime I try and hit apply in the digital asset properties menu (when adding a folder or making other properties visible) Houdini ramps up to 100% cpu and crashes after a few seconds. I tried to go back and double-check everything I have setup is the same as in the prior and this video and it certainly looks to be so, so I am a bit confused on this. : /

    Hi, great tutorial!

I have one suggestion though: please upload those on a platform that supports increasing playback speed :)
