Imagine a future where civilization has collapsed, and the world is overrun by zombies. This series of videos focuses on zombie combat effects that you would expect to find in a AAA Survival Strategy Game. Set up various effects for eliminating zombies, demonstrating how to create realistic and immersive visual feedback. Instead of simple death animations, this course covers techniques to enhance impact and immersion in zombie encounters.

Now, let’s meticulously craft the moment zombies meet their end! There is an Unreal project that comes with the Project Files that includes all of these Realtime FX.

Learn how to create complex-looking game effects using Houdini's sophisticated setups. We plan to create a scene where a zombie character's arm is severed, causing blood to splatter. Additionally, we will learn how to bring this effect into Unreal Engine.
Learn how to create a severed arm setup using various cutting nodes available in Houdini.
Learn how to create a severed arm effect using the RBD Bullet Solver and Vellum Solver. Additionally, explore how to make nerve tissues and muscles tear away along with the arm.
Learn how to create a fluid-like effect using the POP Solver with post-processing then how to generate blood splatter when the arm is severed and how the blood interacts with the character's body.
Learn how to export files from Houdini to Unreal Engine. You will also explore how to connect Vertex Animation Textures to materials and visualize the effects in Unreal Engine.
Learn how to create complex-looking game effects using Houdini's sophisticated setups. We plan to create a scene where a zombie character's arm is severed, causing blood to splatter. Additionally, we will learn how to bring this effect into Unreal Engine.
Learn how to set up growing veins in Houdini. Explore how to use the Solver node and Find Shortest Path node to define the directional growth of the veins.
As a key aspect of this work, learn how to set up artist-controlled start and end timing using VEX.
You can shape the character's appearance during the process of converting the generated vein curves into a mesh. Learn how to use VDB for this process.
Learn how to export files from Houdini to Unreal Engine. You will also explore how to connect Vertex Animation Textures to materials and visualize the effects in Unreal Engine.
Learn how to create an effect where a zombie approaches and gradually freezes. Using SOP Solver and VEX, you will explore techniques for spreading ice and develop a solver that generates natural ice particles. Additionally, you will learn how to bring this effect into Unreal Engine.
Learn how to use SOP Solver to create a growing movement of points and set them up to form sharp ice structures.
Learn the process of converting it into a mesh for use in a game engine.
Learn how to control particle advection using a single solver instead of creating two separate simulation solvers. This technique will be highly useful in production.
Learn how to export files from Houdini to Unreal Engine.
We will learn how to use RBD Bullet Solver to create a scene where a zombie burns and its body breaks apart. We will use POP Solver to generate ashes as the body disintegrates. Additionally, we will learn how to apply a texture transition effect in Unreal Engine using materials to represent the burnt areas.
We will learn how to make a moving character break apart.Through this, we will understand how deforming and active attributes work and how to apply them effectively.
You will learn how to export files from Houdini to Unreal Engine. We will use color changes in the material as a condition for texture transitions.
Additionally, you will learn how to connect Vertex Animation Texture (VAT) to materials and visualize the effects inside Unreal Engine.

I'm having an issue with the Scripted Assets drop down. It is not showing in my Unreal Engine window. I have made sure plugins and everything are installed, added the folder to the Unreal folder but I right click on my textures and I still don't show those. I've done it before so I don't understand nor remember what I'm missing. Thanks
