FEM constraints ¶
-
Create one-sided or two-sided slide constraints for polygons and tetrahedrons with the new Connection Model parameter options on the FEM Slide Constraint DOP node. One-sided slide constraints are very useful when you want FEM Objects to either repel (without attracting) or attract (without repelling) other objects. One-sided slide constraints also provide a really nice alternative to collision handling for FEM Objects.
-
Restrict the generation of links from source points to target locations with the new Filter parameters on the FEM Slide Constraint DOP and FEM Attach Constraint DOP nodes.
-
The FEM Slide Constraint DOP and FEM Attach Constraint DOP nodes now accept hard-constrained points as sources. This supports better constraint set-ups with FEM when you want to use animated objects as hard constrained FEM objects.
-
New Attach Points to Target Object shelf tool on the FEM shelf for the FEM Attach Constraint DOP constraint.
-
New Slide Points against Target Object shelf tool on the FEM shelf for the FEM Slide Constraint DOP constraint.
FEM solver ¶
-
The FEM Solver DOP node now supports animated per-vertex rest positions in addition to per-point rest positions. Also, when Allow Changing Rest is turned on, the
restP
attribute is now recognized as both a vertex and a point attribute. -
The FEM Solver DOP node now allows you to use animated rest shapes with the Stable Neo-Hookean Variant material model. You need to turn on Allow Changing Rest to be able to use feature.
Tetrahedra ¶
-
The new Keep Primitives parameter on the Convert Tets SOP node allows you to keep your input primitives. This provides a simple and efficient way to attach a polygonal skin to an existing tetrahedral mesh.
