To open the log viewer, click the New Tab icon at the top of a pane and select New Pane Tab Type ▸ Log Viewer.
Top toolbar ¶

Connected logging sources |
A menu of available log sources. |

Filter logging sources |
Turn filtering on and off using the other buttons on this toolbar. |

Filter external sources |
A menu of external Houdini processes that can provide logs. |

Filter severities |
Choose the log severity levels to display. |

Karma logging verbosity |
Choose the verbosity level of the Karma Rendering logs. |
|
Toggle table and text-only log views |
Switch between table view and raw text content. |

Text-only view position |
Switch to a vertical split between the log table and the raw text search (when there are search matches). |

Filter field |
When you type in this field, only log entries containing the given text are visible in the table. |
Ignore Case |
When turned on, ignore the case in the filter field. |

Regex |
(Advanced) When turned on, treat the text in the filter field as a regular expression and only show log entries that match the pattern. |

Clear all log entries |
Clear the log entries in memory and start with a blank view. |
|
Save log entries to disk |
Save the accumulated log entries to a file. |
Bottom search bar ¶
The bottom search bar lets you search for specific text in the raw log output. When the text in the search field matches the text in the raw log output, the log viewer switches to a split view showing the log table and the matching raw text.

Select the previous text matching the search field. |

Next match |
Select the next text matching the search field. |

Case sensitive matching |
When turned on, ignore the case in the search field. |

When turned on, highlight the matched text. |
