A big thanks to the folks at SESI for the Motion Graphics class in L.A.
I went for the class even though I knew the intermediate level lecture was going to be over my head. Being a noobie with only a few months of self training, I expected to overwhelmed, and I was, in a good way. I kept up where I could, and struggled some. I guess I left in a in a bit of a supersaturated brain fog!
When I got back to home and stated playing with the exercise files, I found I picked up more than I thought I would. However, my hearing and memory aren't what they use to be so I wish I made an audio recording to replay at home.
I thought it was a good lecture, well explained, at a good pace.
I drove up from San Diego, 2 1/2 hours each way, and it was well worth it. I'll attend classes there anytime I get a chance, and I highly recommend them.
The class was recorded for internal use only. I may be just a noobie, but this gets my vote to be added to the tutorial page so it's available to a wider range of users.
Thanks for the hospitality as well!

Thanks for coming to the class! I'm glad it was worthwhile for you and worth the long drive!
Yes, I think it was a bit of information overload - especially near the end. Four hours is probably too long for a technical class. If I do another workshop it will be shorter and more digestible
There's a lot that I wasn't able to explain as clearly or as easy to follow as I would have liked. If I can get the time I hope to do some videos that go through the files in a more organized way.

Hey thanks!
That's old stuff, though. Some of what I covered is in those videos, but I want to show everything from the class. The videos that are posted right now don't actually explain anything - they just show off some tools.
Ok, maybe this weekend I'll get to sit down and put up some vids…
Cheers,
Adam

Two videos of stuff I presented in the class are up:
http://vimeo.com/17035181 [vimeo.com]
http://vimeo.com/17039552 [vimeo.com]
These aren't from the actual videos from the class, but present the same material.
More to come.

Hi Adam,
Many thanks for posting some videos. I'd love to come down for some of the training classes, but I'm a bit far away, so being able to view the videos is great.
I haven't yet got my feet wet with Houdini because I can't get it running my system
I'm pretty sure the videos you have posted are an intermediate level. What would be a good place to find learning materials for beginners of Houdini 11?
Thanks much!
Mike
