Ocean Volume shader - Smoke color noise

Hi! I'm having an issue trying to mask the smokeColor of the Ocean Volume shader. I'm using an attribute created in SOPs to ramp it between 2 colors. But there is something I'm missing because I'm not getting the result I expect. Here I attach the screenshots. Has the problem something to do with treating the geometry as volume?
