I'm trying to get the feather procedural to work with deformations but can't seem to get it to not explode.
I'm sure I'm just missing something stupid.
There doesn't really seem to be any examples, eagle and splashscreen don't use deformations, or documentation that shows how to use the deform option so I'm wondering if anyone out there might have a simple example scene that shows how it works?
I've created simple feather surfaces, rest, that then gets point deformed by the body. They both have and id prim attribute.
If I plug these into the feather deform node it works fine in SOPs but if I use the same rest and anim in the procedural the feathers explodes.
Any help would be appreciated.
Feather procedural deform example?

Hi, we've gotten this question a few times now, here's a very basic example with deformation.
Most likely cause if you can't get it to work: You're missing a Feather Deform SOP in Capture mode on the SOP side. This is needed to bake capture information into the rest groom, which the procedural uses to look up locations on the deforming surfaces.

Hi Kai,
I'm really hoping to get some tips here.
We're doing a project where I want to deform a knitted, curve based sweater so it follows the animated and simmed lowpoly sweather mesh. The full curve based sweather is pretty heavy so instead of caching out sequences I was hoping I could do this at rendertime with a solaris procedural.
Since the feather procedural has some point deform functionality I was hoping it could be used to achieve this also, but so far no luck.
Is there a way to use the feather procedural to deform any curve to follow a deformer mesh? Or is it best to use/ create another procedural for this?
