The QT5 Version of houdini 16.0.5xx is broken for me since I upgraded to KDE 5.9.
I had to switch to the qt4 version to make it start again.
Is the qt5 version dynamically linked ?
What can I do to make the qt5 version work again ?
Anybody else experiencing the same problems ?

Do have LD_LIBRARY_PATH set? Perhaps that is causing Houdini to load the wrong Qt libraries. If don't have it, you could try setting it to the location of Houdini's Qt libraries. You must do this from the shell (eg. export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=…; houdini -foreground).

I was able to run the Qt5 build on KDE a few weeks back though I can't recall if it was 5.9. I'll have to double-check.

Are there any errors in the terminal when launching Houdini? If so, can you post them here?

And yes. Houdini dynamically links to Qt5 libraries.

Cheers,

For me it worked too until a few days ago. Then after upgrade to 5.9.x old and nee installs of h16qt5 stopped working. No error messages. No startup. Process stays for some time but no gui pops up. Qt4 Version works fine.
