Orientation Picking seems to be broken in H20.5

Quite a step backward.

In H20 it works fine. However in H20.5 it no longer snaps to primitive centers, making it much less useful.

"Snap to Primitive Centroids" is checked, but it doesn't snap to primitives at all.

It seems to be a Vulkan viewport issue. OpenGL viewport works as before.

Just stumbled across this myself - do you have a bug reference number? I'll submit as well and cross reference it.

SideFX says it's already fixed in daily build.

Disappointedly it's still an issue with the latest 20.5.297 version...

Edit: but weirdly it only happens while snapping to selectable template?

Snapping to midpoint also doesn’t work on Vulcan, but it does in OpenGl. You didn't report this?

Frustrating that its not fixed in 297.
I'll add a bug report to back up yours!

Selectable template or renderflag, I can only get point and edge indicators in Vulkan - but no primitive indicators.
Works OK for me in OpenGL. (Windows 10)

I've just filed my bug report as a backup to you guys... the more reports the better I guess.

EDIT: filed as bug #139341 in case anyone wants to cross reference it in a further report.

Make sure you submit a hip file and precise steps on how to reproduce. It might be that the dev testing something else than what you're actually seeing.

Hurray, everything is fixed in 299! And binding to the center of primitives and to midpoints. Great job, sidefx! Thank you that we didn't have to wait 18 years. Now I can safely use the Vulkan.

Sadly, it seems they've broken the node info panel in 299

Lol we can never have a version where the most basic features (that have been existing for like a decade) work, right.

I understand that Copernicus might be unstable but Orientation Picking? Node info? Really...?
