Unreal plug-in

  • Compatible with Unreal Engine 5.3..

  • macOS Apple Silicon support for Unreal Engine 5.2.

  • Supports World Partition exports from Houdini (Unreal Engine 5.0).

  • New reference-counted Inputs system that reproduces the Unreal hierarchy in the Houdini Engine session. This system is faster as it prevents duplication of data.

  • Input types have been condensed and UI redesigned

  • Node Sync now fully supports all inputs/outputs types and options.

Unity plug-in

  • Added support for a new Spline Input Object. This allows artists to use Unity’s Splines package (supported in Unity version 2022.1 and later) to create and manipulate splines in the editor as HDA inputs the same as HE for Unity’s Curve Editor.

HAPI

  • Support for Tracy.

  • Added support for querying and setting dictionary attributes. See What’s New in HAPI.

  • Optimizations: the new HAPI functions SetAttributeUniqueData sets multiple attributes to a single, unique value.

  • New Houdini Engine Sample application provides studios with a source of reference and inspiration when writing Houdini integrations for their own DCC application or game engine.

  • HARS crash handling.

  • Optimizations to functions that set attributes.

  • New API functions for querying loaded assets.

Maya plug-in

  • Support for Maya 2024.

3Ds Max plug-in

  • Support for 3ds Max 2023 and 2024.

  • Added support for baking out transform keyfames for animated packed primitives.

glTF

  • Auto-generated MikkT tangents and normals import option.

  • Improved export of name fields.
